Myrtle Beach Getaway

I'm back from my trip, all unpacked and anxious to get back to blogging. Last time I took a trip I didn't have access to the internet other than on my phone. You may remember I blogged about it when I got back saying that I was going thru withdrawals by the time I got home! So this time I was going to be prepared and bring my portable Play Station (PSP) since the hotel had wireless internet. (I was very proud of myself for thinking of this!) However, I carried the PSP off while looking for the instruction booklet and never picked it back up. So I packed the instructions, but not the PSP. Doh! And to top it off, I had 'zero' cell phone reception in the hotel so getting online with my phone wasn't an option either. I guess it's just as well because once I start 'blog hopping' I can spend hours doing nothing else. Hopefully by the time I take another trip I'll have a laptop!

My first day there it was cold and rainy. However, having previously lived in sunny Phoenix, AZ for 20 years, I love cloudy weather. So I cozied up in my hotel room with a pot of coffee and my crochet hook and had some much needed 'down' time.

I think the ocean is beautiful, even on a cloudy day! I did venture down, despite the rain, to get some better pics, and put my feet in the sand!

On the second day it had stopped raining. The weather was cloudy and cool, with a slight breeze....just perfect for outdoor shopping. So I was off to "Broadway at the Beach". Most of the shops were beach themed and so colorful. There was so much to see and do...I had a terrific time taking it all in!

Mosaic Flamingo

The Disney Store

Look at these fairy wings! So pretty!

This Music Box played "When You Wish Upon a Star"

A cart with glass jewelry pendants. I thought this beach lady sculpture was so pretty. I hate that the picture came out blurry, but I have to share it with you anyway!

I loved this store! This jellybean castle was fabulous! The pictures just don't do it justice.

This purse at Tiki Jim's was so me I just had to buy it!!

Words to live by

I'm constantly on the lookout for amigurumi inspiration, and I found lots of it here!

These ducks were all over the bridges and were so tame they would come right up to you looking for a hand out!

I'm not sure what kind of birds these were, but they were very odd.

The Kiss Coffee House

All around the trip was glorious and I can't wait to go back! I even managed to get some crocheting done while I was there.

Now it's back to business. Today I'm going to take stock of my unfinished crochet projects. I have way too many of them lying around, so it's time to organize and prioritize. Thanks for visiting, as always!!
