Fascinating Crochet!
While browsing the web today, I ran across the website of one very talented crochet artist by the name of Shauna Richardson, and I was both fascinated and amazed at what I saw! Shauna's creations, which she calls "Crochetdermy" are a feast for the eyes, and unlike any crocheted work that I've ever seen. Shauna's creations are not what comes to mind when you think of crocheted animals. They look more like 'taxidermy", which is why Shauna coined the term "Crochetdermy" to better describe the work that she does. Here is a just a small sampling of her amazing work!

Cute Crochet Dolls
I love Lily Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn and I visit their website often in search of potholder or dishcloth patterns. I know they have tons of awesome patterns, but I didn't realize they also have free amigurumi patterns. Either they are new, or I just wasn't paying attention, but in any case I was delighted to run across these free crochet doll patterns today on their site!

Crochet Yourself a Ring
Want a quick little project that's super easy and whips up in a flash? Check out this crocheted ring I made recently in under 30 minutes! I haven't ever really been one for crocheted jewelry, although I do think that some of it is lovely and unique, but when I ran across this pattern link I was intrigued and decided to give it a try.
There are three different ring patterns included in the PDF, however I only tried one because the other two were too large for my liking. So here is my version of the ring in two different colors:
They are very cute and surprisingly comfortable! So if you're looking for a quick project to break the routine, try one of these rings on for size! You can get the downloadable PDF here.

Crochet a Pretty Flower Square Pillow
I have a beautiful crochet pattern to share with you today, but first how about a fun crochet fact? Did you know that crochet is the last fiber art that cannot be duplicated by machine? Yep, it's true. True crochet stitches cannot be duplicated by a machine. That makes a handmade crocheted piece even more unique and truly one-of-a-kind.
I think crochet is beautiful. I am so amazed and proud at just how far this art form has come. I am always on the lookout for unique and interesting displays of bright and beautiful crochet, and I was so excited when I ran across this one!
I hope you're all having a terrific and crafty weekend!

Hooked on Amigurumi Dolls
I finally have a completed project to share with you and I hope that you'll like it as much as I do!
For quite some time I have been admiring the work of the amazingly talented Beth at By Hook, By Hand. Beth is talented beyond words, and if you haven't visited her blog before you are in for quite a treat!! So here is my version of Beth's "mini free spirit" doll. Her name is Katrina.
This doll is made from Beth's Mini Free Spirit doll pattern which is available on her blog here. The thread bear she's holding is one I made a while back and posted here.
She's so tiny and petite and only 6 inches tall. I absolutely love her!
The dress is also from one of Beth's patterns and I think it makes her look so girlie and sweet.I will be making more of these dolls in the future. You might say "I'm hooked".
Now on to other business! The winner of the Yoplait Yogurt Spa Set giveaway is Lynn! Congratulations Lynn! I will be contacting you via e-mail to get your information for the delivery of your gift. I hope that you will enjoy your gift set and free yogurt coupons, and use them to Nurture and Nourish yourself.
Next on my to do list is to get back to writing my original design doll patterns, which are coming along nicely, just very S-L-O-W.
Thanks for visiting, as always. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and remember to take time in your busy schedules to take care of YOU.
