I am a Chihuahua lady. I admit it. I love chihuahuas. I have 2 long haired chi's of my own,
Allie & Shortie
And 3 long haired chihuahua grandpuppies.......
Daisy, (the Alpha female) Eva & Lucy
When I decided I wanted to crochet an amigurumi chihuahua and started my search for a free pattern, I was delighted to run across this adorable little chi pattern! You can download the free pattern for this little Chi here.
So here it is....my version of the pattern. The lighting made him look gray in the pictures, however I crocheted him in a light tan with off white. I plan to make more of these adorable little creatures in a variety of colors.
With "Daisy" the fawn.
Since I listed a collection of cat patterns in a previous post, I thought it would be only right to do the same for all the dog lovers out there. So here are some very cute, and best of all free amigurumi dog patterns!

At the risk of giving you Chihuahua overload, here are some fun Chihuahua facts.
Did you know..........
Chihuahuas come with both long and smooth coats.
Chihuahuas are recognized as the smallest breed of dog in the world, but they are no dummies!
Chihuahua’s brains are the largest of any breed, when compared to the size of their bodies.
Chihuahua's prefer the companionship of other Chihuahua's over other breeds.
The Aztec and Toltec tribes of Mexico considered the Chihuahua to be sacred.
No one actually knows where the Chihuahua breed originates from however, the Chihuahua was discovered in Chihuahua, Mexico in 1850, thus named Chihuahua after where it was found.
The first Chihuahua was registered by the AKC in 1904 and according to the AKC is the 10th
most popular breed in the U.S.
The remains of Chihuahuas have been found buried with humans in Mexico and the United
States.
Chihuahuas were used as hot packs in ancient times to relieve aches and pains.
A little something to make you smile!
Next on my crochet project list is an adorable little snow bunny. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy making your Amigurumi puppy as much as I enjoyed making mine. Thanks for visiting my blog!
